OSUC – Observatory of Earth and Space Sciences, Centre-Val-de-Loire

The Observatory of Earth and Space Sciences in the Centre-Val de Loire region (Orléans) is a part of the group of French Observatories of Sciences of the Universe (OSU) affiliated with CNRS-INSU. Under such organization, it also serves an educational institution as a faculty of the University of Orléans. OSUC primarily provides education in Earth and Environmental Sciences, as well as Physics and Chemistry within the Faculty of Science and Technology. In addition to CNRS and the University, Paris Observatory is the third supervising organization. The specific task of OSUC is to carry out observation in the fields of Astronomy/Astrophysics, Earth, and Environmental Sciences. With its constituent laboratories – LPC2E, ISTO, and the Nançay Observatory – OSUC is also in charge of promoting scientific research in these areas.
